Welcome to the class page for Dosbarth Langland- Year 1 and 2!

Our teachers are Mrs West, Miss Wiggall, Mrs Rees-Stevens and Mrs McWhirter.

Important days to remember:

• Trekking Tuesday- we need to bring in coats and wellies to enjoy our treks in the local area.
• Physical Fridays- PE kits are to be worn to enjoy our physical education session.

Autumn Term

During this term we have been concentrating on the theme, 'Inspirational People'.  First we thought about ourselves and our friends, considering our similarities and differences.  Then we explored the lives and achievements of others, such as Queen Elizabeth, Rosa Parks and Betty Campbell. We have been inspired by the artists Andy Warhol, Picasso and Arcimboldo.

Spring Term

This term, we have been considering the virtues 'eloquent and truthful'.  We have been exploring the importance of telling the truth through the story, 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf', and have written our own versions of this tale. 

We have learnt about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and Article 12- the right to a voice! 

We have heard about Greta Thunberg, and how she used her voice to spread the important messages about climate change, and the need to protect our planet.
