Phonics

When teaching children to read, we use a systematic phonics approach. 

Phonics are the pure sounds and NOT the letter names.

The scheme we use is called Read Write Inc. 

It helps learners by using a picture that looks like the letter shape- you can see the shapes and rhymes below.
