Collective Worship
Our children participate in Collective Worship in their classes, Key Stages and also whole school worship. We have assembly based on the Gospel of the Week where we gather, listen, respond and go forth with a special message.
We attend Mass in school or the local Parish and often attend Children’s Masses. The school serves 4 Parishes and attends First Holy Communion Services.
Each class has an area within the class. This is usually specific to the Liturgical Year and has key words/prayers for the children to access.
During the academic year, classes lead Christmas and Easter Assemblies, children lead Mass by readings and altar serving, class assemblies are linked to the Liturgical Year and parents, grandparents are invited to share the celebration.
The school is developing its links with the wider community, visiting All Saints Church, local Nursing Homes and Mumbles Memorial.
We hold a Rosary service which takes place in October and is a form of prayer and devotion. Children brought their Rosaries and Fr Gregory told us all about the rosary and we prayed a decade. It involved reflection on the mysteries of Christ's life and the intercession of Mary.
